ARLINGTON — The Arlington Relay for Life will commence its second year of fundraising activities with a kick-off event on Jan. 22 at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, located at 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is intended to get individuals involved in the 2011 Arlington Relay for Life, as well as to educate them about the American Cancer Society and to register teams and individuals for this year’s Relay.

Arlington Mayor Margaret Larson and American Cancer Society representatives will stop by to speak briefly to attendees. The event will also feature special awards, a slideshow of last year’s Relay and some entertainment. Event organizers encourage visitors to stop in anytime during the two-hour period.
