ARLINGTON — The Arlington Fire Department will be conducting its annual "Santa Run" food drive for 10 nights, from Friday, Dec. 7, through Sunday, Dec. 16.
Arlington firefighters and their families will be escorting Santa through the neighborhoods of Arlington on a decorated fire engine to gather food donations, pass out candy canes and spread holiday cheer from 5-8:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 5:30-8 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays.
"This annual event has been happening for approximately 20 years now," Arlington Fire Capt. Dave Kraski said. "This event is the largest annual contributor to the Arlington Community Food Bank, collecting approximately 5,000 pounds of food annually."
