Arlington schools kindergarten information night March 18

ARLINGTON — The Arlington School District will be conducting kindergarten registration beginning March 25. Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 in order to register for school. To register their children, parents need to take their children's immunization records, birth certificates and proof of residency within the Arlington district to their neighborhood school office.

The district will again be offering full-time kindergarten at each elementary school. Because Washington state only funds a half-time kindergarten program, the district needs to charge tuition in the amount of $3,050 per year to cover the remaining half. Tuition payments can be made monthly through an automatic withdrawal system or as a one-time payment before Sept. 1. Enrollment in the full-time program is on a first-come, first-served basis.

A district-wide Kindergarten Information Night will run from 6-7 p.m. on March 18 at Presidents Elementary School, located at 505 E. Third St. in Arlington. During the meeting, parents can learn more about programs offered, student health concerns, assessments, kindergarten readiness and transportation. Children will be able to visit a kindergarten classroom and tour a school bus as well.

Please feel free to contact Andrea Conley, public information coordinator for the district, by phone at 360-618-6217 or via email at for more information or answers to questions.
