Stilliaguamish Valley Genealogical Society presents history of area schools Oct. 8

ARLINGTON — The Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society will host Loren Kraetz and Sue Walde's presentation on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 1-2 p.m., about schools that have operated in the area near the current Exit 208 off Interstate 5.

Kraetz and Walde have researched the history of the schools and the families in the area, and gathered photos of the school buildings and students.

This event is free and aims to be of interest to anyone who's curious about the history of the "Island School" areas such as Silvana, Arlington and Stanwood, as well as families who lived nearby and those who want to learn about "The Good Old Days."

There is ample parking, including handicapped parking at 730 Highland Dr., at the Arlington Free Methodist Church at the corner of Highland Drive and Stillaguamish Avenue.

Please call 360-435-4838 or email svgs@frontier.com for more information.
