Arlington High School Band will hold its annual Car Wash-a-thon fund raiser Saturday, Sept. 26.

The event will be held in front of the gym at Arlington High School, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd. in Arlington, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students are collecting pledges this week, which are based on the total number of cars washed, or cash donations can be made.

Car wash stations will be set up in front of the gym with cars lined up in the parking lot for the next available station. Students are assigned to wash cars, scrub wheels, fill soap buckets, rinse, and run fresh supplies to each station.

Each year the AHS Band students hold this event to raise funds for new band instruments as well as music lesson and band tour scholarships for band students. The kids really enjoy this positive team-building activity with their fellow classmates and Band Director John Grabowski. Working together to earn money for band equipment gives them a feeling that they really can make a difference by striving toward a common goal.
