SNOHOMISH COUNTY — A $26,500 grant has been awarded to the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The grant will help the organization extend and expand its service to military families thorough May 2010.

To help those families, grant funds will help the Red Cross continue its support of Naval Station Everett’s Operation Prepare program.

The program helps military families prepare a personal disaster plan, said Connie Lewis, Snohomish County Red Cross public information officer.
