Marysville Kiwanis honor Sound Harley-Davidson
SMOKEY POINT — Sound Harley-Davidson was recently honored by the Marysville Kiwanis for their support of community events and activities.
Sound H-D owner Scott Smernis and his staff received the Appreciation Award from Kiwanis members on Friday, Feb. 5 in recognition of the motorcycle dealership's contribution to the Marysville community.
Since opening in fall 2006, Sound H-D has supported a number of events, including the Oyster Run Pancake Breakfast each September, the Special Olympics, Fisher House, Olive Crest, the Marysville Popcorn in the Parks Series and National Night Out Against Crime.
The Oyster Run breakfast has raised thousands of dollars for local high school student college scholarships through the Marysville Kiwanis Club and Soroptimist Club, according to a release.
In addition to the Appreciation Award, the Kiwanis' Everyday Heroes Award for the month of February went to Kari Korsgren, Sound H-D marketing and events manager.
Kiwanis past President Dave Voigt and current President Elaine Ferri presented the awards to Smernis and Korsgren at the dealership, and were joined by other Kiwanis members and Sound H-D staff members.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
