ARLINGTON — Community members will soon be able to walk for a good cause.

Village Community Services' Friendship Walk will be taking place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, at the Legion Park gazebo (114 N. Olympic Ave., Arlington).

Proceeds from the one-mile walk benefit Voices of the Village and Village Music and Arts.

Village Community Services, based in Smokey Point, provides disabled residents of Marysville, Arlington and Stanwood a creative outlet to express themselves, while offering career planning and placement services.

Organizers are suggesting a $25 sponsorship or donation to participate in the walk. Participants who raise $25 or more receive a Friendship Walk T-shirt.

Awards will also be distributed to individuals and teams who raised the most money for the event.

Registration for the walk begins at noon, when Voice of the Village is scheduled to perform.
