Harvey exhibits 33 paintings at Lake Steven's City Hall

Arlington artist Christina Harvey is showing 33 paintings at Lake Steven's City Hall. Harvey grew up in a family of artists and received a Bachelor of Fine Art in 1976. She worked as a technical illustrator and graphic designer, painting on the side through the years. Now since she retired in 2002, Harvey is very happy to have time to focus on painting, averaging about 18 paintings a year.
"After experimenting with many media like oils, printing, charcoal drawing, enamelwork, ceramics, mosaics, collage and painted furniture, I have found what I love the most is acrylic painting," Harvey said.
"Besides the quick drying time and ease of clean up, I like the one-on-one immediate connection of paint to brush to canvas. What you do is what you get," she said. Harvey gets joy from the color, the fun, the beauty and the magic of capturing the many simple objects around us all and in our imaginations.
Harvey is a member of the Arlington Arts Council and Greater Marysville Art Guild. Her paintings can be viewed during regular business hours at Lake Stevens City Hall.
