Drummers, dancers honor Tulalips art show

Drummers and dancers of the Tulalip Canoe Family are joined by Salmon Ceremony musicians adding an extra special experience at the May 1 “Meet the Artists” reception opening the exhibit, “Generations: The Art and Culture of the Tulalip Tribes.” The exhibit features contemporary and traditional art by artists of the Tulalip Tribes at the Historic Monte Cristo through June 26. This is the arts council’s annual Art Education in Action exhibit. It includes original paintings, carved masks, metal sculptures, blown- and cast-glass, prints, woven cedar hats, baskets and mats, musical instruments and jewelry. Admission to the art show is free, at 1507 Wall St., in Everett. Gallery hours are  10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays.
