Janet Myer wants to do it all. She is a multi-talented artist who leaps for inspiration from her Cowlitz Native American heritage to Victorian women dressed in long white gowns. She paints jazz musicians and interesting architecture.

She makes dream catchers and war shields and she paints Indian Chiefs with all their regalia. It's her Native American-inspired work that is featured in a new display case at the Marysville Library, and some of her paintings of jazz musicians and interesting buildings are on display in the display case at the main entrance of the library.

"We are very excited to have this new case," said Cecelia Venolia, the coordinator of a Round Robin public art exhibit at various locations in Marysville and Arlington as well as being chair of the Greater Marysville Art Guild.

Venolia is excited about the new 3-D display case.

"We want to feature more cultural items in the case," Venolia said, adding that Myer is already planning to do two workshops for the Greater Marysville Art Guild in the fall, one on dreamcatchers and another on war shields.

"They put war shields on horses when going into battle," Myer explained.
