‘A Star is Born’ benefits foster kids

Smokey Point Community Church presents its annual Christmas musical, “A Star is Born” at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 at 17721 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington. The play is about a group that is trying to present a Christmas musical and the lead character playing Mary gets hurt, so a back stage hand tries to help by calling 1-800-Big-Star. “They get Sophia, who’s focus is not on the true meaning of Christmas at all — it’s all about her being a big star,” said the director, Tammie Clifford. Proceeds from the performance will benefit foster children. For information call 360-659-2844. -
