While other students are partying on the beaches of Mexico during Spring Break, Arlington High School’s vocal jazz choir, Jazzmine, was hard at work, competing at the 37th annual Fullerton College Jazz Festival in southern California.

The Fullerton College Jazz Festival attracts hundreds of vocal and instrumental groups from around California and the western states for its annual competition, and Jazzmine placed second in the advanced vocal jazz division.

Jazzmine singers Erica Ewell and Justin Goheen captured the awards for outstanding female vocalist and outstanding male vocalist.

While in California, Jazzmine also performed at Disney’s California Adventure, and at two area high school music exchanges.
