HCS offers ‘A Midsummer Nights Dream’

Highland Christian School will present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” May 29, 30 and 31, June 5, 6 and 7. The show starts at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and at 3 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for kids and $20 for families. Cast members are Kody Mattson, Kjirsti Overgaard, Sam Anglesey, Ashly Swearingen, Hannah Gould, Brittany Chase, Kylie Burrows, Danny Jahraus, Calvin Wold, Sam Abdallah, Blake Fisher, Chad Donnelson, Jeff Kelly, Brandon Chase, Grady Poortinga, Houston Huber, Shelbi Castle, Jade Olin, Bethany Fuller, Molly Shackelford, Sam Schwiezer and Kaila Graber. The director is Nancy Overgaard.”I asked the students what they wanted to present. I wanted them to be involved in the choice so that they would take ownership,” Overgaard said. The student who plays Bottom the donkey, Kody Mattson said the play is very funny and the hardest part about his role is making donkey sounds. “It’s really a funny play,” agreed Brandon Chase, who plays the moon as well as a tailor named Robin Starveling.
