SILVANA — Art connoisseurs of all ages are invited to a local art festival featuring artists both young and old.
The second annual Big Red Art Festival will be taking place at Countryside Meadows from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oct. 17-18.
The festival will feature local art exhibitors and a children’s art show at the Silvana-based venue, located at 21916 7th Ave. NE.
“I want the younger and less-established artists mixing with the established artists,” organizer Vicki Carver said. “I wanted to get all the artists together in and out of the cold.”
A variety of mediums will be on display during the festival, including oil paintings, water colors, acrylics, jewelry, pottery and garden art, Carver said.
Exhibitors include Joan Grout, Judith Jackson, Terri Martin, Christina Harvey, Judy Sauer, Lyla Lillis and Daniel Carver.
At least 15 children will also be showing off pieces in an art show, and Carver will be supplying other children with basic instruction in watercolor painting, origami and drawing.
There is no cost to attend the event.
