'Jazz on the Green' coming to Gleneagle restaurant in Arlington

ARLINGTON — Community members have a chance to tap their toes and bob their heads during an upcoming jazz show.
The Arlington High School On Hold jazz band, directed by John Grabowski, will perform "Jazz on the Green," a free community event, starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 11.
The show takes place at the Gleneagle Family Bar & Grill, located at 7619 E. Country Club Dr. in Arlington.
The band is scheduled to play popular tunes by County Basie, Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Glenn Miller and more.
The show will run until about 9 p.m.
Organizers of the show said that guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and relax on the lawn outside the restaurant. Should weather be an issue, Gleneagle staff will provide a large event tent so guests can stay dry.
"These On Hold jazz students, as well as Mr. Grabowski, are addictive to watch because they all have so much fun performing and they are amazing," said band parent Marlene Lewis. "Having the opportunity for a free evening of family oriented entertainment like this offered to the community is just one reason to love living in Arlington."
