Inauguration 2009 | Arlington Letters To The Editor

I’ll be at home here in my chair

I’ll be at home here in my chair

That I can’t be there I don’t care

I’ll celebrate here in my heart

I cast my vote, I did my part

Now I will watch and wait to see

The changes he will make for me

I’ll be so proud to add my prayer

As I watch and see him standing there

A vow he’ll make to do his best

To put our people to the test

To make our country once more great

With all our efforts change its fate

I hope and pray that he’ll do well

Against the problems that may swell

He’ll stand his ground and fight the fight

To give our country back its might

So with the rest I’ll wait to see

A country where I’m proud to be

Where work and pride will help us see

As united in purpose we can be free

Free of hate and free of debt

Of loss of pride and of sad regret

Together he’ll lead us if we but try

With work and prayer the time will fly
