MARYSVILLE – Allen Creek Baptist Church reached out to have a community event it called Western Roundup Sunday.

The church, across from Walmart on Highway 528 near Highway 9, spent time before the event handing out fliers around that area of town.

Pastor Jared Row said some visitors came and a few even decided to join the church.

The event featured activities like throwing a lasso, shooting a bb gun, and shooting a bow and arrow. There was also a horseshoe pit and a bouncy house.

The winner of a costume contest won a flat-screen TV.

Visitors and church members were treated to a free lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings.
