M’ville Rotary honors 3 M-P students for community service

MARYSVILLE – The Marysville Rotary Club has presented its Community Service Awards to three students at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Daryn Bundy of the Rotary has this to say about the winners, based on their nominations.

•Emily Gregg, a senior, puts forth 100 percent in her own studies while helping others who struggle. She also volunteered last year with the Marysville Strawberry Festival as one of the princesses. She is a National Honor Society student, and this past year was president of the group. Emily is an inspiration and positive role model for all.

•Cece Watson, a junior, has demonstrated great leadership, service and character through her actions on and off campus. Cece has been willing to help anyone wherever she goes. She volunteers her time at school, as well as in the community in many ways. She is a genuine and respectful young lady everyone can look up to.

•Phillip Howat, a junior, is a full-time Running Start student, but he continues to volunteer in the community and a high school tutoring students. Phillip is an Honor Society student, and exudes the values of the society with service, leadership and character.

Each recipient received a certificate for their community service, along with $100 from the Marysville Les Schwab.
