MARYSVILLE – There wasn’t a safer place to be Saturday night than Cedarcrest Middle School.

That’s because hundreds of superhero boys and their superhero moms attended the city’s Mother-Son Superhero Dance.

Spiderman and Captain America were there to pose for pictures with the attendees.

Participants dressed up in costumes like those two superheroes along with Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Bumblebee, the Incredibles, the Avengers, Transformers, Flash, Green Hornet and Black Panther, along with villains such as Poison Ivy and the Joker.

Those in attendance danced to old favorites like “YMCA” and the “Chicken Dance” but they also played various games and enjoyed free refreshments provided by the Marysville Kiwanis Club, with help from the Key Club at Marysville Getchell High School.
