MARYSVILLE – Red Curtain opens its stage to two groups of young actors.

Auditions for Springboard, for ages 9-15, are set for May 7-8. All registered students are guaranteed to be cast in this year’s production of the musical fantasy “The Locket.” Monday through Thursday classes/rehearsals begin May 20, with three public performances scheduled for June 28-29. In late June, Summer Stars debuts, designed for those ages 15-19. Auditions are June 17-18. To prepare for a fully staged production of “Cabaret,” students will rehearse five evenings each week beginning June 23, with public performances Aug. 9-11.

To find out more visit the Red Curtain website, or phone the office at 360-322-7402. Also, Red Curtain offers three weekends of diverse entertainment this month.

Visit the Land of Oz the evening of May 11, starting at 9 p.m., as local performers present a “wicked” Burlesque Variety Show, featuring “boy-lesque” and drag entertainers. Tickets are $25 in advance; $28 at the door. Call to reserve your tickets or visit brownpapertickets.com.

The Sonus Boreal women’s choir presents its annual spring concert on May 18 with shows at 2 and 6 p.m. Themed “For Her,” the concert features music by, for, and about women. Tickets at brownpapertickets.com soon.

Red Curtain’s improv troupe brings the wacky world of improvisational theatre to the stage on May 25. Tickets are $15.

Red Curtain also is looking for volunteer help. Go to SignUp.com or contact volunteer coordinator Rhonda Snyder at 425-350-9178, email volunteer@redcurtainfoundation.org or call the office.
