Applications available for Strawberry Festival Royalty Scholarship Pageant

MARYSVILLE — Applications are now available for the Marysville Strawberry Festival April Friesner Memorial Royalty Scholarship Pageant.

The sponsoring organization Maryfest, Inc., is looking for juniors and seniors from the Marysville and Lakewood school districts to participate in the Royalty Scholarship Pageant in March of 2009.

Three representatives will be chosen to fill the positions of the Royalty Court, and the top position will be awarded a $3,000 scholarship. The two remaining positions will each be awarded a $2,000 scholarship. Applications are open to girls and boys, and are available online, along with additional information and requirements, at www.maryfest.com.

You may also call 360-659-7664 if you’re interested in receiving an application, or in volunteering with the Marysville Strawberry Festival. Strawberry Festival meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at the Marysville School District Office, in the Strawberry Room.
