ARLINGTON — More than 400 lbs. of food were recently donated to the Arlington Community Food Bank.

The Downtown Arlington Business Association donated 431 pounds of goods from Costco — valued at $500 — to the food bank on Oct. 16.

DABA members Julie Tate and Marilyn Bullock dropped off the donations, which were purchased with funds raised during the 11th annual Show-n-Shine Car Show in June.

Nearly 250 cars were entered into the show, Bullock said.

Fruits, vegetables, canned goods, toilet paper and other nonperishable goods made up the bulk of the items.

“Whenever we do events downtown, we always want to give back,” Bullock said. “We like to feel that the downtown business association is the community and that we support it.”
