ARLINGTON — The application deadline for a grant that can be used to fund school projects and programs has been pushed back.

Teachers, administrators and classified staff within the Arlington School District can still apply for the Arlington Education Foundation’s “Pay It Forward” grant.

The grant’s previous deadline of Nov. 1 has been extended to Jan. 1, 2010, according to a release by the foundation.

The foundation is looking for applications in areas that include academics, careers, mentoring, health and fitness, fine arts, citizenship and interpersonal skills.

Arlington Educational Foundation has funded a number of items in the past, including scholarships for graduating seniors and the Byrnes Performing Arts Center.

The foundation is currently fundraising for technology stations for teachers at Post Middle School and broadcasting equipment for Arlington High School.
