MARYSVILLE Ignoring threats of suspensions or other consequences, on Feb. 5 about 150 to 200 Totem Middle School students walked out of their building and gathered on the school's front lawn.

Police make second arrest in murder caseThe arrest of Matthew Hedgcoth arrived April 30, just a few weeks after officials brought in a suspect they believe was present during Hughley's murder and may have participated in disposing of evidence related to the crime, according to Marysville Police.
The second suspect was booked into a Snohomish County Jail on a charge of suspicion of second degree murder, said city police Cmdr. Ralph Krusey, who added the arrest was made based on information obtained following the earlier arrest.
City moving to 50/50 split for new, repaired sidewalksCity Public Works Director Kevin Nielsen said Marysville hasn't revamped how it deals with the cost of sidewalks since the early 1990s. He added the formula used to figure the cost of sidewalks to homeowners often was referred to as a 50/50 program.
"It wasn't truly a 50/50 program," Nielsen said.

MARYSVILLE Senior pole vaulter Robin Mueller broke a school record while other Tomahawk athletes tried to keep their seasons alive at the North-South Duel and freshman championships."At this point from here on out, it's do or die. You hit the mark or your season's over. It's the fun part of track, but it's also not very forgiving," said M-P track coach Randy Davis, whose squad hosted Arlington, Kamiak and Mariner in the May 1 duel meet. "Track's a really strange sport that way, where your team gets smaller and smaller until your season's over."
It's the same way for freshmen now that their April 28 championship meet is over, which means that for a number of Tomahawk track athletes, the season is over.

OAK HARBOR By a 2-1 score, the Tomahawk soccer team closed their regular season with a win, but the boys still walked out of Wildcat Memorial Stadium with heavy hearts, after learning their first-ever league championship would have to wait for another year."I think they're ready to move on," said M-P coach Geoff Kittle as the team walked out of the stadium, toward the bus. "The regular season is over."
Arlington shocks M-P on senior night

MARYSVILLE Arlington threw a wrench in M-P's postseason plans, defeating the Tomahawks 1-0 on their senior night and throwing their quest for a league title into doubt.M-P had several opportunities to score in the April 29 game, but it was Arlington's senior forward Schyler Furrer who found the goal with nine minutes left in the game.
