Arlington Rotary sponsoring year-long international high school exchange

ARLINGTON — The Rotary Club of Arlington is sponsoring a year-long exchange for high school students as part of the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program. The Arlington Club has sponsored Sandra Maroto Lombao from Madrid, Spain, for the 2012-13 school year and sent Samantha Arndt, a sophomore from Lakewood High School, to France for a year.

ARLINGTON — George Fredric Handel's "Messiah" will soon fill the rafters of the Linda M. Byrnes Performing Arts Center in Arlington. All area vocalists and instrumentalists are welcome to join the Arlington Community Choir, which forms every two years to present this musical classic.

EVERETT — Low-income, uninsured college students and other adults will be offered free whooping cough shots from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Room 105 of Everett Community College's Whitehorse Hall. Those under 18 years of age need a parent or guardian's signature for permission to vaccinate.

Auditor encourages voters to return their voted ballots soon

Snohomish County Auditor Carolyn Weikel is encouraging all voters to avoid the crowds of Election Day and ensure their ballots count by returning their voted ballots soon. Ballots can be returned anytime through the mail or by using one of 11 ballot drop boxes. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Ballots returned through a ballot drop box must be deposited in the box by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
