Snohomish County Elections began mailing ballots on Thursday, Oct. 17, to more than 412,000 voters for the Nov. 5 General Election. The Snohomish County local voters’ pamphlets will be mailed one per household. Voters will also receive a pamphlet from the Secretary of State covering statewide ballot measures and advisory votes.

MARYSVILLE — As part of United Way's IRS-approved free tax preparation program in 2014, volunteers are needed to help north Snohomish County working families keep more of what they earn. All volunteers will receive training from United Way and will become certified by the IRS. In addition to tax preparers, United Way is also looking for volunteer greeters and intake screeners.

The Lakewood School District Board of Directors is expected to approve a resolution in early December authorizing a capital bond measure, which would go before the school district’s voters in February of 2014, so District Superintendent Dr. Dennis Haddock is taking the time to explain to the public why he sees the proposed renovations to Lakewood High School as being so essential.
