ARLINGTON — Republican John Koster has moved ahead of Democrat Rick Larsen in the race for Congressional District 2.

According to the most recent Primary Election voter results released on Wednesday, Aug. 25, Koster held a 160-vote lead over the incumbent Larsen.

Preliminary primary results Aug. 17 showed that Larsen, who has served as U.S. Representative in District 2 since 2000, had held about a 2,000 vote lead over Koster.

That lead had decreased to 126 votes by Monday, Aug. 23.

As of Wednesday, Koster had collected 73,469 votes compared to Larsen's 73,309.

Koster also leads the way in Snohomish County, where he serves as a Council Council member. As of Tuesday, Aug. 24, Koster had garnered 29,765 votes — about 3,000 more votes than Larsen.

Both candidates, who will vie for the District seat in the Nov. 2 General Election, are from Arlington.
