National Weather Service warns of thunderstorms for parts of Western Washington including Arlington, Marysville

MARYSVILLE - The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement at approximately 1:40 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, warning of possible strong thunderstorms for parts of Western Washington including Arlington and Marysville.

According to the statement, "Very heavy rain and small hail are likely with these storms. National Weather Service Doppler radar also indicated some weak rotation with the thunderstorms. Thus there is a possibility that one of the storms could produce a funnel cloud."

The NWS also recommends "if threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy building."
