ARLINGTON  – The city of Arlington is mourning the passing of City Council Member Scott Solla, who served the city from 2006 until his passing early Saturday morning. Council Member Solla passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. In honor of Council member Solla, city flags are being flown at half‐staff.
Council member Solla was appointed to the City Council in May 2006 to fill an unexpired term. He was subsequently elected to the seat in 2007 and re-elected in 2009. Scott was also a member of the Arlington Kiwanis Club.
Mayor Margaret Larson stated, “Scott never had a personal agenda. His sole agenda was to serve the Arlington community he so loved. The thoughts and prayers of the entire city of Arlington family are with Vickie and the Solla family. Scott will be greatly missed.”
City Administrator Allen Johnson stated, “Scott was an incredibly enthusiastic, positive, and caring person. He always saw his role on the Council as that of facilitator to implement reasonable plans that all sides could agree on. He loved serving the citizens and businesses of Arlington.”
Scott is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Vickie, their three sons, and four grandchildren.
Funeral services are pending.
