ARLINGTON — The Arlington Police Department received a 911 call shortly after midnight on Friday, Feb. 15, from a concerned citizen who reported discovering a vandalism and resulting theft at the U.S. Post Office at 524 N. Olympic Ave. in Arlington. It appears that approximately 20 Post Office boxes were pried open in the lobby of the Arlington Post Office, and mail was scattered throughout this area.
Arlington Police officers responded and were able to collect evidence that will help to identify the suspect or suspects involved in the incident. The Seattle Division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service was advised of the investigation and has offered to assist the Arlington Police Department with the investigation. Arlington Post Office employees left notices for victim Post Office box owners, who are encouraged to contact the Arlington Police at 360-403-3400 to provide statements documenting any theft from their boxes.
