ARLINGTON – Two dogs perished in a fire that broke out at an Arlington home on Friday, but three occupants at the home escaped unhurt.

Arlington firefighters responded to an alarm call about 10 p.m. on July 7 at the house in the 17700 block of Hillside Court.

A third of the building suffered significant fire damage, in addition to smoke damage, city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.

Assisting on the call were Snohomish County District #19 (Silvana), Snohomish County District #22 (Getchell) and Marysville Fire District. No firefighters were injured, Banfield said.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause and amount of loss.
