Paradise Burgers: New owner, same favorites
SMOKEY POINT Paradise Burgers has a new owner, but it still has fried mushrooms on the menu.
Tom Lee comes to the community with 20 years of experience in running his own deli in downtown Seattle, but he was looking for a change of pace.
It gets a little boring to stay in one spot for that long, said Lee, who took over Paradise Burgers at the start of August.
Lee was able to purchase both the business and the property, something he saw as an opportunity to become part of the growing community of Arlington.
I know this area, said Lee, who lives in Bothell but has family living here.
Lees approach to his new business is simple and low-key fresh food in a clean environment.
None of its frozen, Lee said. When your meat and other ingredients are fresh, they taste better. Weve really cleaned it up.
Among the changes that Lee has made to the building are exterior and interior paint jobs, a new sign on the awning and a complete reorganization of the cooking equipment.
Lee noted that Paradise Burgers familiar favorites, such as its fried mushrooms and onion rings, remain on the menu and in demand. He added that new sandwiches should appear on the menu soon.
I dont really have any big plans, Lee said. Well be getting another sign in two weeks, and Id like to open up more branches in the Seattle area, but for now Im just going to focus on this as my main business.
Paradise Burgers is located at 17323 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington, and is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. You can call for take-away at 360-653-8000.
