Post Middle School assists Arlington Food Bank

ARLINGTON The Post Middle School Associated Student Body and Leadership delivered a check for $772.59 to the Arlington Food Bank Dec. 13 and unloaded 5,001 pounds of food from a trailer.
Post Middle School students Tanah Busby, Kyla Miller, Darjae Carter and Ray Cook conducted the drop-off, while teacher Heidi Burke was quick to credit the efforts of all the students who participated.
Each and every class dug deep into their pockets and cupboards, Burke said. However, the number one class was Mr. Morins seventh period, with 983 equivalent pounds, while Mrs. Piccolos class came in second with 594 pounds, and Ms. Englishs class rounded out the top three with 500 pounds. I have to say, way to go, students and staff, for your overwhelming generosity and support for our community.
Last year, Post Middle School students pulled off a three-day feat, raising $2,128.76 and collecting 1,388 pounds of food and other items for the food bank Nov. 13-15.
This drive is another example of how generous our parents are, and how hard-working our students are, said Post Middle School Principal Brian Beckley. These kids show that they understand how important it is to give back, and they excelled at putting this effort together in a very short amount of time.
