AHS hosts all-ages Scholastic Book Fair Feb. 14-16

ARLINGTON Arlington High School will serve as the staging grounds for a student-run Scholastic Book Fair Feb. 14-16, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., to help raise funds to purchase new materials for the AHS library, as well to send Key Club members to the District Convention.
The fair will feature a wide range of books for readers of all ages, including national adult bestsellers, college prep, best of the best teen picks, sports guides, graphic novels, fantasy trilogies and cookbooks, as well as preschool titles and quality books for children ages 4-14, from more than 150 publishers.
Parents, students, teachers, families and the community are invited, and on Feb. 15 and 16, the fair will be open from 5:30-8:30 p.m., during the 3A playoffs in the AHS gym.
Our students have worked very hard to create an exciting shopping experience that will appeal to all ages, said Kristine Copenhaver, the schools librarian. Not only are these students raising money for much-needed school resources, theyre gaining real-life, hands-on business experience by managing all aspects of the event, from advertising and merchandising to accounting and customer service.
Sponsorships are available. Area businesses interested in making a donation are asked to contact Kristine Copenhaver at 360-618-6300.
