ARLINGTON Due to streaming rain Friday morning and a pretty wet week before that, the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce postponed its June 6 golf tournament.
Golf course management didnt want people on the course when it was so wet, said Tarin OBrien, tournament organizer.
Chamber director Jennifer Shaw said the tournament is tentatively rescheduled for June 27.
We are checking with the golfers to make sure most of them are available, OBrien said.
We hope that everyone will be able to be there at the end of the month, Shaw said.
Lets keep our fingers crossed for dry weather soon.
The chamber is also assisting Cascade Valley Hospital to present the Grand Parade on the Fourth of July and has applications at its office, 3710 168th St., in the Smokey Point community of Arlington. Applications are also available at City Hall, at the hospital, and at The Arlington Times office, 233 N. Olympic Ave. For information about the parade or the golf tournament call the chamber office at 360-659-5453.
