Kindergarten registration starts March 24

ARLINGTON The Arlington School District is reminding parents whose children start kindergarten next year that registration will begin at each school March 24.
ASD Public Information Coordinator Misti Gilman advised families to contact the ASD Transportation Department, at 360-435-3307, to find out which attendance areas they live in. She added that the ASD Web site, at www.asd.wednet.edu, includes answers to frequently asked questions about kindergarten, in both English and Spanish.
To be eligible for next years kindergarten class, a child must be at least five years old by Aug. 31 of this year, Gilman said. When arriving at the school to register their child, parents should bring verification of their childs birth date and address, such as a copy of a utility bill, as well as the names and telephone numbers of their emergency contacts, and an up-to-date record of the childs immunizations.
The vaccines required for school attendance in the state of Washington can be found at www.doh.wa.gov/cfh/Immunize/default.htm.
