During the city of Arlingtons annual Spring Clean-Up event June 9, 240 private vehicles delivered 66 refrigerators compared to 46 last year, 234 televisions (144 last year), 235 computer monitors (216 last year) and 253 computer CPUs (147 last year), reports Marc Hayes, code enforcement officer for the city. City residents were eligible to get rid of their trash for free, although the city paid the county $9,795 to dump the trash. Thats almost $2,000 more but 12 vehicles less than last year, Hayes said.
