Arlington fire department rescues man caught in industrial equipment

ARLINGTON A 19-year-old man suffered an industrial accident at National Foods Corporation, located at 16900 51st Ave. NE in Arlington, Oct. 5.
Firefighters and emergency medical services personnel from the Arlington Fire Department and Marysville Fire District arrived at 1:50 p.m. to find the man with both legs trapped in a piece of industrial equipment.
The 15 responders worked for more than an hour to remove the man from the machinery, which is used to remove debris from chicken cages.
Once removed, the man was immediately transported by medic unit to Arlington Airport, where he was transferred to an Airlift Northwest helicopter, which took him to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
The medical status of the injured man cannot be released at this time, due to federal privacy laws.
