Thomas wins quilt
August 27, 2008 · Updated 5:40 PM
From left, Ron Thomas and Teresa Gilbert proudly display the Arlington event T-shirt quilt, sewn together by Shirley Countryman and Christy Brubaker, that the couple won Dec. 2, when it was raffled off to help support construction of the gazebo in Legion Park. The quilt includes T-shirt logos from car shows, the Duck Dash, the fire departments anniversary, and assorted activities sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club, among others, offering what Brubaker deemed a strong cross-section of the citys character. Thomas and Gilbert were similarly impressed by the historic significance of the quilt, and are considering framing it and hanging it on their bedroom wall.
