April 21, 2009 · 3:02 PM
The Arlington Planning Commission was going to have a public hearing on some aspects of the city's sign code tonight, April 21, but the meeting has been cancelled. The review of the sign code is an ongoing project, said David Kuhl, the city's community development director.
The volunteer board started the process April 7 with a look at sign regulations and the impact of proposed changes. Kuhl presented a Power Point slide show on the good, the bad and the ugly.
"We are examining portions of the sign code a bit at a time," Kuhl said.
The planning commission is reviewing city codes on temporary and permanent signs and nonconforming signs, Kuhl said.
"We are planning a join session with the council to make sure everyone is on the same page as we move forward."
