Arlington High School held a practice earthquake drill and an evacuation drill 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 20.

"This drill is the final part to the comprehensive Safe Schools Grant, which has allowed the Arlington School District to build a detailed emergency plan in collaboration with the city of Arlington, its fire department and Cascade Valley Hospital, said the district's public information coordinator, Misti Gilman.

After the evacuation AHS staff executed many of emergency preparedness procedures such as search and rescue and triage.

The drill lasted about an hour, Gilman said.

Arlington Fire Department was on site throughout the process, working in conjunction with the school to assist and provide feedback.
