EVERETT – Lakewood school district residents have an extra three days to file for the Director District 2 of the Lakewood School District's board of directors, because no one had filed for the position before the deadline.
Snohomish County Elections announced June 8 an extra three days of filing for offices where no candidates have filed.
The special three-day filing period continues through 4 p.m., Friday, June 12 at the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office, located on the first floor of the Administration West Building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave. in Everett.
Jordan Village Sewer District Commissioner positions 1 and 2 are also available.
“While 295 people filed for local offices this year, there remain five local offices up for election where no one has filed," said County Auditor Carolyn Weikel.
"Strong leadership in these offices is important to our community. I call on the citizens in these districts to consider serving,” she said.
Prospective candidates are encouraged to visit the Snohomish County Elections Web site to view the qualifications for office. Visit www.snoco.org/elections.
