4th fireworks calls down in Marysville

Cmdr. Mark Thomas said Thursday that Marysville police had a 20 percent reduction in fireworks calls on the Fourth off July compared with last year. From June 30 to July 5 there were 182 calls, compared with 232 last year. Police issued 27 citations, compared with 46 in 2017. Officers said fireworks were quieter and over earlier than in previous years. The Marysville Fire District reported one fireworks injury and possibly one brush fire, but they were out of the city limits. Last year there were 12 fires and one injury. (Courtesy Photo)
