ARLINGTON — On Sept. 11 at approximately 5:50 a.m., emergency personnel from Arlington Police and Fire were dispatched to a reported injury and accident at the intersection of 172nd Street NE and 43rd Avenue NE.

A car headed westbound on 172nd Street NE crossed the centerline and struck a motorcycle that was headed eastbound. The motorcycle and its rider were pushed into a power pole by the force of the accident. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and was located by emergency personnel, along with his bike, in an adjacent field. The car also left the roadway and was located in the same field.

The driver of the car was treated at the scene by Arlington Fire personnel for minor injuries and released. The motorcyclist suffered serious leg injuries and was transported to Providence Medical Center's Colby Campus in Everett, then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Arlington Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
