SMOKEY POINT – Both southbound on-ramps of Interstate 5 at Smokey Point will be closed Monday, Sept. 21, starting as crews pave and stripe the merge areas between both ramps and I-5.
Crews will close both ramps at 9 p.m. and reopen at 4 a.m. Sept. 22, according to WSDOT spokesperson Sandy Lam.
Drivers will follow a signed detour from the affected interchange (172nd Street NE/SR 531) using Smokey Point Boulevard.
The work is part of the ongoing improvements to the I-5 / SR 531.
