ARLINGTON — Organizers of the annual Pumpkin Pie Contest are seeking donations for prizes.

First-year planner Chris Bateham said she would like to see more donations to the contest in order to encourage more entries.

"In the past, things I've received have been all over the board," said Bateham, who has competed in the event for the past few years. "I'm open to anything they can give."

She said donating a prize can be good advertising for local businesses.

Bateham said she would like to have all prizes by Oct. 21.

The contest takes place Oct. 31 at the Legion Park gazebo in downtown Arlington.

"It's open to anybody who thinks they can bake," she said.

Bateham can be contacted at 425-422-6488 or via e-mail.
