ARLINGTON — The Arlington School District has announced the dates for two public tours of Trafton Elementary School.

The district will hold tours at the historic school from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 24 and from 2-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 2.

The Arlington School Board approved in March a 90-day district review to see whether closing Trafton would be an option.

The district is facing a $2.5 million budget shortfall for the 2010-11 school year.

Community members and parents have created a sub-committee of the Trafton Parents Club called "Keep Trafton Alive," and have been in talks with district administrators regarding the review.
