ARLINGTON — Arlington Masonic Lodge No. 129 honored students and educators during its recent Junior Achievement scholarship evening.
Approximately 80 residents attended the April 15 event, during which the Masons recognized 17 students from Arlington High School and seven from Darrington High School for their academics and community involvement.
Two students from each high school also received scholarships from the organization. From Arlington, juniors John Deeter and Caroline Rensel were selected, while Darrington’s Daniel Botamanenko and Madison Hatfield were chosen.
The four students were selected from 24 scholarship applicants.
During the presentation, the Masons also presented Jan Mustered, Arlington High School school-to-career coordinator, with the organization’s Educator of the Year Award.
Mustered is slated to retire this month after more than 15 years at the school.
Assisting Master of the Arlington Lodge, Dr. Ken Shotwell, were Arlington High School Career Center Specialist Connie LaFlam, Arlington High School Principal Kurt Criscione and Darrington High School counselor Brett Galbreath.
