ARLINGTON — Detectives are investigating a possible drive-by shooting that took place on Saturday, June 19.

At approximately 5 p.m., Arlington Police Department officers responded to the 16600 block of 40th Avenue NE to the reported shooting.

The caller initially thought that a noise near their front door and glass breaking was caused by a rock, but then discovered a bullet lodged between the window panes, according to Kristin Banfield, city of Arlington spokeswoman.

The responding officer removed a small caliber round from the window as evidence, Banfield said.

"This appears to be an isolated incident that Arlington police are taking very seriously," she said.

The case, which is still under investigation, has been forwarded to department detectives.

Any residents with information regarding the possible shooting are asked to contact the police department at 360-403-3400.
